Omnifocus - I'm on linux/android and sometimes Windows machines, so never could test it properly. Google tasks - too simple for my purposes. I've settled on Emacs org-mode, but that is because I've gotten more nerdy and now live in my text editor. Here's a list of all the apps I've tried over the past 3 years. It very strictly follows GTD though, so it might be a tad more overwhelming than most To-Do list apps without such functionalities. It is mainly a webapp, but also supports iOS/Android apps for mobile. It was the only tool, where I felt it wasn't a downgrade compared to OF2 (rather, an upgrade). Doit.im is a Cross-platform Best Online GTD Service, which can sync with Phones.

There's a free version, but I directly upgraded to Premium after a couple of days for extra functionality. I settled down with Nirvanahq two months ago and couldn't be happier. Toodledo seems to be one of the oldest and most advanced web-tools for to-do stuff, but I couldn't stand the clunky UI.

Since I had a career change half a year ago and now almost exclusively use Linux during the day, I recently searched for a tool to replace OF2. I don’t need a task manager to replace me or my thinking, but to support me to become better and to reduce my stress level.Long time (4yr+) OmniFocus user here. Helping me to connect the dots to make the right decisions in getting the right and important things done while being in the loop. Good decisions are made by having the right information at hand and that is what a task manager should do. Not planning my day! But helping me to put it all together. Some of them move to my calendar, some to my information depository and some might be deleted or archived, but the connections should continue.Ī system that can learn the way I think, could be a real help. If i could find a way to connect these things together without me having to do too much, I could actually get things done. Most of the entries never become tasks, but might be important at one stage. This is were all task managers I tried so far fail. But I don’t have time for this, sitting down with each entry thinking about the tags to use, etc. The operator will not do the conversion, so if two values are not the same type will simply return false. The operator will compare for equality after doing any necessary type conversions. If you’re like full of ideas every minute of the day, this is a hige stress relief. Doit.im (1.67/month, I do not recommend its use). In GTD fashion, I use my task list as an extension of my thinking, by putting everything in it that crosses my mind and might be of value at a later stage. Bubble interface is fun if you have 10 tasks, and list interface clearly takes second. I believe the biggest issue with todays task managers is not about planning your tasks, but organising them.
